After the third visit, I can give our full recommendation regarding service and cuisine! This is where the first steak was served where I didn't have to season anything. Schnitzel, pizza and fish were also delicious. Price-performance ratio is still okay here! Hence our full recommendation. The toilets should get a renovation!

Short-term reservation today at noon was possible. The food was very good, the price / performance ratio was therefore completely okay! Staff was friendly.

From my point of view, a visit here is highly recommended. I think the selection is wide-ranging and so far everything I have been served has tasted great, the armchairs are extremely comfortable and I find the distance between the seats particularly appropriate. There you don't get the feeling of having dinner like fish in a can. Great and friendly service. I think the entire restaurant staff did a great job there.

Delicious meat, wide variety. Although we hadn't made a reservation, there was still a seat available for both of us. For me, too (I don't like to eat steak) there were delicious dishes on the menu. You can combine the side dishes and sauces with the meat yourself, one portion of which would certainly have been enough for two. The service was very friendly and courteous If we lived a little closer, we would certainly come back many times !! ❤

Nice service, no long wait. But nothing special. The map is maybe a bit too big, a bit of everything - it had put me off a bit before. The name of the restaurant promises something different.

The bratwurst was very good. Carpaccio was tasty too. Chicken and salmon weren't dry, but they were close. Very friendly staff.

Due to the high Google rating, we were looking forward to a nice evening, but unfortunately we were disappointed. We had to wait (over) 1 hour for our starter, and the pumpkin cream soup was anything but creamy. The main courses were also disappointing, as they weren't really warm and in our opinion not fresh, as advertised. Unfortunately I can only give 1 star.

We have now been eating in the lava stone for 4 days in a row. Simply great cuisine and a great team. I can only recommend. Will definitely be back. Just great

So far everything is OK. Schnitzel dish was run and too greasy. Salad was initially forgotten as a side dish. Also don't understand the balsamic mess on the plates, that's about 2004. Otherwise nice people.

I was a guest here about 2 weeks ago and I was really excited! The vegan burger was absolutely outstanding! You could taste that the patty was fresh and homemade! The potato thalers were also very tasty and I can really recommend them! The service was also impeccable and very, very friendly !!!

We were there for the first time and it will definitely not be the last. Super friendly staff and incredibly delicious food. The prices were also convincing. All in all 5 stars !!

The kitchen is great - very digestible, natural and beautifully decorated dishes, great taste experience. There were five of us in the restaurant and had different dishes. Everyone was thrilled. Service very friendly and helpful, but a bit overwhelmed due to staff shortages. Ambience can be improved. Annoying street noise with open windows and the entrance door - why does it have to be open, despite the notice? Ceiling fans in Corona times are a "no go".

We went to eat at the lava stone tonight. From the warm service to the food, it was perfect. Very high quality and very fresh and excellent in taste. The portions were very generous :-) You will definitely be full.

Doesn't look like much from the outside. But good service and a good price / performance ratio in terms of food. Will definitely come again.

Food tasted good, even if it wasn't what I wanted. Friendly service. Showed himself very hard. It's a shame that due to the heavy traffic you can only sit nice and comfortably outside to a limited extent. Value for money is ok.

Perfect

It was the closest restaurant to our hotel. We have ordered pizza and hamburger Lavanstein. Pizza was baked in the oven, was ok, but the hamburger was the worst ever in my life. The burger was hard like a sole and overroasted, it seems that it was frosen before, I don't recommend this place.

1 star is already too much for this supposed "restaurant" Food was never fresh. Deep fryers cutlets from the freezer. Apparently you get 250g schnitzel. Was only half of it. The mushrooms were out of the glass ... The cola wasn't refrigerated. When we told the "waitress" that we wanted to pay, she just wanted to take my half full Coke with her. But no wonder, apparently she has forgotten how to speak. We haven't tried dessert at all. It was all too expensive for that. I cannot recommend the "restaurant"! If you give it a try, I wish you a good "hunger" :-)

A very nice restaurant. It is rustically furnished. We were greeted warmly and then accompanied to the table. The food is very good, plentiful and of good quality. We would love to come back.

Love it, good steaks and the price is ok, staffs are friendly.

Good food good service

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new, an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Lavastein's, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in Kassel. I will be returning to Lavastein's soon, hungry for more.

Very friendly and good service and a good selection of wine. The kitchen was open pretty late which was a huge plus.

The only a few months old restaurant Lavastein offers a very nice and attentive service. The menu does not offer too many choices - but (for me the most important thing) the food tasted very good. A new visit is guaranteed by my side in any case.

I took my parents here and we had a great time. Service was off the charts good, food was great and decent portions too. We will definitely be back. Try Akvavit after your meal. ;)

Good food in Kassel I think my best experience in Germanies restaurants. I will come back when I'm over here.

If your looking for a place to really enjoy food in Kassel, this homey, intimate restaurant it the best place for you!!! After one and a half years in Germany, it was first time we have enjoyed eating in a restaurant...The staff is warm and inviting, perfect hospitality and great food made with lots of love...Food was fresh and soooo tasty....price is fare trade, WC are clean. The place is children friendly and great for families...They were flexible with my vegetarian wife and made special dishes for her...Highly Recommended!!
